On my own

When I’m left to my own devices- there’s every chance that dinner is going to look like this.

The Hungry One is at Oktoberfest. In all honesty, I couldn’t think of anything worse if I tried.

Carnival rides. Crowds. Oopah bands. Sticky hoards of anglo men, with beer flushed cheeks and malt-soured breath.

It was my choice not to go. Much better to save the funds for a trip to Paris next weekend. Instead for me it was two days of wandering around London, yoga classes, late visits to the Tate, a sneaky trip to see ‘Eat-Pray-Love’ (I liked the eating bit…) and some meals for one.

In all honesty, I know it’s not much of a meal.

It’s a passing thought. A hue. A reunion of kindred spirits.

Sweet tomatoes, perhaps the last of the season. A touch of salt.

Best eaten watching the rain slide down the window, or while sneaking in an episode of America’s Next Top Model…

It’s all about balance.

  1. Hehe nothing wrong with some beautiful tomatoes! 🙂 I eat really good ones like apples. I'm seeing Eat, Pray, Love soon and I'm betting I'll go for the eating scenes too !:P
