I feel a bit wrong writing about this. I feel I should keep this as a secret. But I’m letting loose.

I’m going to let you in about one of my favourite places in the world.

A picture tells a thousand words, and this thumbnail from a time when the resolution on camera phones was tiny captures my sentiments. What follows is a bit of an ode to the private dining rooms at Sydney’s Cafe Sopra. And it’s the sort of place that causes me to make pink wine addled faces like this;

That one was crafted on an iphone with one shaky hand in the milky light of 4.34 am. It was from me to my lovely agent, Clare. And it was me confirming and agreeing to a book deal with Quadrille. A new book, that’s slated to come out in June 2014.

Baby Will joined us in the world six hours and ten minutes after I sent it.

Meatloaf Pie

I am not MacGyver. Yet there is something about motherhood that has made me so.

A caveat. I am swiftly discovering that parenting doesn’t always look or feel like you imagined it.

I didn’t imagine that I would cry along with my son when he got his first set of immunisations. It was the look of abject, incredulous horror on his face as he stared straight up at me- ‘but this hurts…?’
